Welcome to the Freehold Mall, H&M and XXI Forever! The entirety of this past Black Friday was both an exhausting and thrilling experience. After following a family around the mall parking lot for a half an hour just to secure a spot, I finally was able to join the hullaballoo in all of the stores. I was initially disappointed that Forever 21 was gone, thinking the new store wasn't finished being constructed. Later on, I was on the phone when I passed by a store and thought to myself, "What's this XXI store.... WAIT A MINUTE!" It was at that very moment that I was overcome with sheer bliss and excitement over the shopping experience that awaited me. Every hour spent at the store was joy. Admittedly, my fellow Black Friday shoppers piling into and around the racks of XXI Forever made browsing for clothes quite overwhelming-- not to mention the hour-and-a-half line (on both floors) we all waited to pay for our merchandise. Now that the post-Thanksgiving madness has ended, shopping at both XXI and H&M is something to marvel about. If you haven't already, head to the Freehold Mall and experience the new Nordstrom wing for yourself!
The following is from an article by Colleen Cury:
"The redevelopment of the Nordstrom wing was the largest project and shifting of stores since 2007, when the mall built a 96,000-square-foot outdoor lifestyle center, which now houses Borders, Cheesecake Factory and others.
The work created a "fashion hub" outside of Nordstrom. H&M , which has a store at the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, opened a 20,000-square-foot store on the upper level of the wing. " H&M was one of the most requested retailers that we had," said Frank Lucia, senior property manager at Freehold Raceway Mall.
Forever 21 expanded its presence at Freehold Raceway Mall and closed its previous 6,200-square-foot store and reopened as XXI Forever, a larger, two-level 33,000-square-foot store."
